Tracking issue:

Name: Ethomyte

Troupe: Parasite

Archetypes: Jester, Converter

Description: Seed your worms inside the minds of others. When you die, send them on a mad dash to complete their objective before being converted.

Objectives: None.

Masquerade notes: N/A

My strongest host... You must complete my quest... Or face DOOM!!! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go reach for an officer's handgun.

Concept

The Ethomyte is a parasite that has the ability to infect players with brainworms. When the Ethomyte is killed, any player who is infected will have a random objective assigned to them. After a timer, if the objective is not completed, the infected player will be converted.

Abilities

The Ethomyte has an action that allows them to select a general freak-type objective out of a list and use it on any nearby living player. After a short hidden doafter, the target will be infected.

Once the Ethomyte is killed, all infected players will be given their objective. If the objective is not completed within ~5 minutes, the player will be converted into a parasite.

Gameplay

As a gameplay element, the mask creates a situation where a player must mastermind a general challenge for the crew which they are doomed to fail. Since they are aware of which objectives they've assigned and how many are given out, they are able to specifically plan and starve the station of materials so that not everyone is capable of completing their objective.

Being targeted by an Ethomyte presents a situation where you are split between getting help and hiding your infection. If you are able to successfully purge the infection and complete the objective with the help of others, then all is well. However, if you fail to do so, the crew will certainly know you are a parasite. If you keep it to yourself, however, even if you fail, your failure will be hidden and you'll have a better chance of infecting people in the future.
