Name: Phantom
Troupe: Crew
Description: Reincarnate as a vengeful phantom on death and annoy your murderer with small inconveniences until they die as well.
Objectives: Be killed, reincarnate as a phantom, and then have your murderer die.
OooOOoooOOOOoooOoooo that's right, atmos tech! I turned off your setup and fucked everything up! Bet you feel bad about killing me now, huh? Gonna kill yourself? Gonna kill yourself? Please kill yourself because of this.
Not entirely positive how the vengeful phantom's speech should be restricted. Maybe like how the ghost bar messaging will work when we get that (do you guys even remember what I mean)
Maybe the phantom should have some bigger win on their murderer's death, like a limited revive or more power? Not sure
Concept
The Phantom is a jester-type mask. They want to be killed, whereupon they will be revived as a vengeful phantom that must annoy the hell out of their murderer in indirect ways, in hopes they will eventually die as a result.
Abilities
The base Phantom has no abilities. However, the vengeful phantom spawned on death is incorporeal and can walk through walls, but can manifest itself for a small time in order to interact with objects in very very basic ways, as well as with the crew in general. Being hit will cause the phantom to dematerialize, but it cannot die. If the Phantom's murderer dies, the Phantom succeeds and may rest in peace (or continue existing as a funny ghost).
If the Phantom dies with no murderer, they still spawn as a vengeful phantom, but can no longer succeed at their objectives.
Gameplay
As a jester-type mask, the Phantom disincentivizes random murder without cause. It also provides ambiguity for other jester-type masks like the Parasite.
The vengeful phantom's gameplay is meant to be mostly indirect--it cannot harm anyone, or even really cause anything that directly harms people, and can only interact with objects in a very limited and basic way. It can talk, but this is restricted, and it has no real incentive to give people accurate information anyhow. Though it cannot die, being dematerialized after being bapped is an inconvenience that any vengeful phantom would like to avoid if it can.
The Phantom is incentivized to attempt to relay information to other crewmembers that results in their murderer's death in some way, be it lies or truth. This process is generally quite funny to all involved. They may also prefer to try and kill their murderer more directly, perhaps by opening dangerous doors around them or giving their position away to an enemy. Of course, they may also kill their murderer through them being annoyed enough by the Phantom's antics to leave this mortal plane entirely.
The vengeful phantom is equivalent to a Ghost ghost-role (if we get those, emo knows what I mean) in scope and abilities, but it still has a mask and the objectives of a Phantom.
